BILLINGS — Police in Billings are investigating after the bodies of a 14-year-old girl and her 32-year-old mother were found at their residence.

Officers were asked to do a welfare check because the girl hadn’t shown up for school for several days and the school resource officer had been unable to contact the family.

Lt. Kevin Iffland says the bodies were found Wednesday morning.

Iffland says there does not appear to be any criminal activity. Autopsies are planned.
