The five candidates for the GOP nomination for U.S. House will meet for a final debate next week in Kalispell.
The debate will be Wednesday, May 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel Kalispell. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for spectators.
All Republican candidates for the at-large U.S. House seat — state Sen. Elsie Arntzen, state Sen. Matt Rosendale, former state Sen. Corey Stapleton, Drew Turiano and former state Sen. Ryan Zinke — are expected to attend.
The debate, sponsored by Americans For Prosperity-Montana and the Glacial Forum, will focus on economic issues such as taxation, regulation, deficit spending, energy development and health care.
A media panel made up of Daily Inter Lake Editor Frank Miele, “Voices of Montana” host Aaron Flint and Montana Television Network reporter Sanjay Talwani will pose questions to the candidates. Joe Balyeat will moderate the debate.
Each candidate will be given three wild cards that he or she can use at any time during the debate. Each candidate also will be allowed to ask one question of another candidate.
Spectator seating is limited.
People planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early and register at www.thefinaldebate.eventbrite.com.
