• Realtors earn Gold Chapter Excellence Award for 2013

The Coeur d'Alene Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors was presented the Gold Chapter Excellence Award for 2013 this week at the annual National Awards Banquet in Washington, D.C. The award was accepted by Janna Rankin Scharf of Keller Williams Realty, immediate past-president of the Coeur d'Alene Women's Council of Realtors Chapter. The delegation included Coeur d'Alene council board members Antigone Twidt, Silver Legacy Realty, president; Beth Strand, Lakeshore Realty, president-elect; and Jaydee Miller, Alliance Title & Escrow Company, membership chair.

"The criteria to qualify for this award are very comprehensive. It's a real credit to the excellence of our Realtor members, sponsors and affiliates for us to have reached this high level of accomplishment," Twidt said.

The Coeur d'Alene Chapter of The Women's Council of Realtors was established in 2003 to be a source of education and business tools focused on the needs of Realtor entrepreneurs at all stages of development. The Coeur d'Alene chapter currently has 49 members working to create business opportunities, develop leadership skills and to achieve their potential for success. • Hope Realty adds new agents

Hope Realty announced the addition of three new agents: Kelly Turman, David Richardson and John Wheeler.

Turman and her husband are former business owners who ran The Rib Ranch/Jimmy C's Restaurant and Lounge in Athol, for almost 11 years. Now that the restaurant chapter is closed in Turman's life, she has chosen a new career in real estate, a market she says she has followed for as long as she can remember. Having been through the buying and selling process many times with she and her husband's own properties, Turman says she understands the importance of maintaining creativity, flexibility and integrity. Contact Turman at (208) 651-7511 or kturman@hoperealtyidaho.com

David Richardson is another new addition at Hope Realty. Richardson was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and he loves it here. He brings to Hope Realty a background in management; construction, from foundation to finish work; and real estate investing. He says he is looking forward to putting that knowledge to use for his future clients. Contact Richardson at (208) 771-5260 or drichardson@hoperealtyidaho.com

Hope Realty also welcomed John H. Wheeler Jr., a North Idaho native. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from Lewis-Clark State College. Wheeler was previously a principal member of a locally owned water drilling and pump service contracting company. More recently, he has worked on new developments that are part of a growing industry trend known as new urbanism. With more than nine years of real estate experience, he has dealt with various types of properties: land, residential homes, commercial, industrial, subdivision development, agricultural and timber properties.

As a full-time agent, Wheeler says he focuses on "getting to know his clients, and taking care of them from beginning to end." He said he gets great satisfaction in helping people make the best decisions with real estate investments. Contact Wheeler at (208) 449-3761 or jwheeler@hoprealtyidaho.com
