Chiefs boys golf district champions

EAST WENATCHEE - Brody Milbrandt was the individual medalist, shooting a one-under 69, and Moses Lake boys golf secured the 4A District 6 Championship after scoring a 496 after round one at Rock Island and 463 after round two at Highlander Golf Course.

Milbrandt, Nick Sutherland and Kellan Roelich qualified for state.

Roelich advanced after defeating teammate Trent Jones in a playoff hole.

Ephrata takes second straight district title

SOAP LAKE - Ephrata boys golf outlasted fellow CWAC foes to capture the 2A District 5/6 Championship at Lakeview Golf and Country Club.

The Tigers took first place with an overall team score of 319. East Valley (Yakima) placed second with a score of 349 and Selah finished third with a score of 350.

The win gives Ephrata back-to-back district championships and adds to its 2014 league championship.

Aaron Whalen, Mason Buchert, Sean Couture, Josh Johnson and Tember Newman all qualified for the 2A State Championships at Chambers Bay May 28 and 29.
