BILLINGS — Polson’s Dylan McCrumb and Layne Zimmerman along with Brady Hislop had the best showing for Northwestern A athletes on the final day at the Class A state tennis tournament on Friday.

McCrumb and Zimmerman battled back to finish third in doubles play. They defeated Tommy Pankratz and Jake Newbury of Billings Central in the consolation final 6-3, 6-1.

Hislop took third place in singles, beating Alma Powell of Corvallis in the consolation final 6-2, 6-4.

Libby’s Jason Schnackenberg and Cody Wood finished sixth in doubles.

For the girls, Columbia Falls’ Emily Getts wound up fourth in singles.

Whitefish’s doubles team of Carline Carbo and Heather Luedtke placed fifth.

Corvallis captured the girls team title while Billings Central took the boys team trophy.

The Polson boys placed fifth and the Columbia Falls girls were sixth to lead Northwestern A teams.
