Longtime BGH receptionist says farewell

SANDPOINT — If you called the hospital anytime within the last 25 years, chances are you spoke with Needie Kennedy, also known as “the voice of Bonner General.”

After Friday, however, Kennedy and her famous voice are heading into retirement. An individual who has contributed much to the community both as Bonner General Health receptionist and in her personal time, Kennedy has been recognized by Sandpoint Mayor Carrie Logan, who declared May 23 “Needie Kennedy Day.”

“It means the world to me, and I’m very honored,” Kennedy said.
