Softball: Polson hangs on to beat Libby, 7-5

LIBBY — Polson held off a late charge by Libby to claim a 7-5 Northwestern A softball victory on Friday in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Polson led 7-0 before Libby roared back with two runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh.

Jaylin Kenney went 3 for 3 for Polson. She doubled twice.

Hannah Potter also doubled for Polson.

Devon Gallagher was 4 for 4 for Libby. Mahalah Wedel and Brooke Rosling had doubles for Libby.

Polson and Libby (17-5 overall, 4-4 league) both advance to the Class A state tournament next week in Polson.
