Sean Reynolds and other members of the Flathead Marines work to clean up the veterans memorial on May 17 at Depot Park in Kalispell. The Flathead Marines have volunteered to take over the job of cleaning and caring for the memorial, saving the Flathead County Memorial Board approximately $3,500 per year. “It was amazing how many veterans came up to us as we were working and asked if they could help,” said Patrick Ward. “And we said, ‘Yes, of course.’ This is not about the Marines, this is a memorial for all of us.” (Brenda Ahearn photos/Daily Inter Lake)
