POW/MIA bracelet given to soldier's family

SANDPOINT — The last thing Loris Michael expected was to receive this month was a memento from her brother’s life.
Thanks to a good-hearted archeologist with a love of historic preservation, however, that’s exactly what she got. Right in time for Memorial Day, S/Sgt. Larry Newman’s POW/MIA bracelet is back in family hands following his 1972 death in Vietnam. The gesture is courtesy of Tom McCulloch, who came in possession of the bracelet and went to great lengths to ensure it returned home.
