Glacier, the fourth seed from the Western Division, will open Class AA state softball tournament play on Thursday versus Great Falls C.M. Russell, the top seed from the Eastern Division, at 11 a.m. in Great Falls at the Multi-Sports Complex.

The winner of that game will face the 11 a.m. winner of Helena Capital and Great Falls High at 3 p.m. The losers from the 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. game will face off at 3 p.m. in the double-elimination tournament.

The semifinal is set for 10:30 a.m. on Friday with the championship contest at 2:30 p.m.

Frenchtown, Polson and Libby will represent Northwestern A at the Class A state softball tournament at the Polson Softball Complex.

In Thursday’s first round, Polson, the second NWA seed, plays Laurel, the third seed from the Eastern Division, while Libby, the third NWA seed, faces Butte Central, the second seed from the Southwestern Division. Both games are set for 1 p.m.

The Polson/Laurel winner faces Hamilton, the top seed from the Southwestern Division, while the Butte Central/Libby winner draws Belgrade, the top seed from the Central Division. Those games begin at 5 p.m.

Hamilton, Belgrade, Frenchtown and Billings Central are top seeds from their respective divisions and have first-round byes.

The semifinal is set for 9 a.m. Saturday with the championship game at 1 p.m.

Ronan, the top seed from the Western Division, faces Glasgow, the four seed from the Eastern Division, on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the opening round of the Class B-C state softball tournament at the Multi-Sports Complex in Great Falls.

The semifinal will take place Friday at 3:30 p.m. with the championship game on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
