Sybil Jean Church, age 85, passed away May 24, 2014, in Coeur d'Alene. She was born July 1, 1928, in Carterville, Mo., to Ira and Ada (Vandergrift) Call.

Sybil married Billy Gene Church April 28, 1944. She was a beloved mother and homemaker and later owned and operated an antiques store in Catalina, Ariz. Sybil and Bill lived in Kellogg; Catalina; Carl Junction, Mo.; and finally Coeur d'Alene. After her husband’s death in 2004, Sybil volunteered for Hospice of North Idaho for nine years.

Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy Gene Church, three brothers, a sister, and a son, George G. Church.

She is survived by a son David and wife Shelley Church of Bayview; granddaughters April Kahabka, Jennifer and Shane Torok, Stacy and Rick Mattis, Jennifer Williams and Dan Weeks, Marcy and Preston Jerome; great grandchildren: Blake, Loren and Alex Torok, Justin and Kaitlyn Kahabka, Kelsie and McKenzie Mattis, Nathen and Peyton Jerome.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Yates Funeral Homes Hayden Chapel. Final burial will be at Carl Junction Cemetery in Missouri next to her husband Billy.
