POST FALLS - Coffee shop burglary suspects jolted three Post Falls businesses during the holiday weekend.
The Coffee Cottage, 1125 N. Spokane St., was burglarized Saturday, while Kokopelli Coffee, 3915 E. Poleline Ave., and the Post Falls Coffee Company, 801 W. Seltice Way, were struck late Monday, according to police.
"All of the businesses were burglarized after hours, during the evening," said Post Falls Police Capt. Greg McLean.
McLean said the burglaries are likely related since all involve coffee shops in a short time.
"We hadn't had any prior to this as well," McLean said.
McLean said a window was broken at the Coffee Cottage and a cash register was stolen.
"We are not disclosing any amount of money at this time," McLean said.
McLean said in that case, a silver Subaru car with its lights on was seen near the business around the time of the alleged burglary.
A window was also broken at the Post Falls Coffee Company in front of the Slab Inn. The door was kicked in at Kokopelli Coffee next to the gas station on Highway 41 and Poleline.
"Most coffee shop owners have learned to not keep money in the businesses (after hours)," said McLean, adding that he didn't know what had been taken from those two locations because the officer's report hadn't been completed as of Tuesday afternoon.
The two most-recent burglaries were reported Tuesday morning.
