The Lake City Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus is hosting the Barbershop Harmony Society's Evergreen District's Division 5 Quartet and Chorus Competition June 6-7 in the auditorium at Post Falls High School.

There will be five choruses and more than 16 quartets competing to move on to the district competition in Surrey, British Columbia, this fall.

The finale to the competition will be the Show of Champions at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7, with the winners, finalists and guest quartets performing their best music.

Tickets are $25 at the door, or in advance by calling (208) 699-0220.

• Male singers wanted

The Lake City Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus will be holding open auditions from 6-7 p.m. June 16, 23 and 30 for male singers to perform with the group for its Fall Cabaret.

The auditions will be held before the group's regular Monday night rehearsals at Heart of the City Church, 521 W. Emma Ave., Coeur d'Alene.

Men will be asked to sing a simple piece to establish voice part placement and will have the opportunity to sing with a quartet, if they want, to experience what close harmony has to offer.

If accepted, the chapter will provide all music and training for the singer, who will perform with the group in its annual show.

For more information or directions, call Bob at (208) 699-0220.
