WEATHER: Source of frustration

Since I purchased a 2015 Old Farmer’s Almanac, I was surprised this morning (October 27) to open the paper and read Mr. Harris’ latest article. Mr. Harris stated “Despite forecasts of “an extremely snowy winter in the North Country” by the Old Farmer’s Almanac ... I see below normal snowfall this winter across the region ...”

In reality the 2015 Old Farmer’s Almanac, both the map on page 96 and descriptions on page 97 and 208, clearly predict that the 2014-2015 winter in this region will be “Mild and wet” and that “Winter temperatures will be above normal, with below-normal snowfall…” The almanac goes on to state that our area will get “... above normal rainfall from parts of inland Washington into the northwest corner of Montana ...”

So my question to Mr. Harris is, “Where do you get this stuff that you put in the paper? Why are you misquoting a reputable publication which has been around for almost 225 years?”

It’s bad enough that you continue to beat the global warming dead horse. Most political opponents of global warming have seen the error of their ways. They are now retreating from making the denial of “global warming” part of their political mantra and state they lack specific education to comment.

Please, Mr. Harris, pay more due diligence to the accuracy of the information that you include in your articles.
