GOP took commanding leads early

SANDPOINT — Republicans Glen Bailey and Michael Rosedale were in command of sizable leads over their Democratic rivals in early returns in Tuesday’s general election.
Bailey, the incumbent District 1 commissioner, had collected 1,461 votes with nine of the county’s 33 precincts counted. Democrat Steve Johnson had 544 votes and Independent Harold Glen Rainey Sr. had 175 votes.
