MISSOULA — A mountain lion is suspected of killing two sheep and three goats near a recreation area southeast of Missoula.

Doug Stewart said the animals were pets his family had to keep the grass and weeds under control around his house in the Pattee Canyon area.

Stewart says Fish, Wildlife and Parks wardens were investigating Wednesday morning and said the kills appeared to be the work of a mountain lion.
