Trotters earn third seed at divisional tournament

TROY – The Plains Trotters secured the third seed at the Western B Divisional Tournament thanks to strong play in Troy over the weekend.
The team’s performance in last weekend’s District 7-B tournament ensured the Trotters a spot at next week’s tournament in Ronan.
The Trotters made it to the semi-final match of the District 7-B tournament, where the eventual tournament champions, the Thompson Falls Lady Hawks, defeated them.
In the semi-final match senior Hailey Phillips had a big match for the Trotters knocking down five kills and generating three assists for the Plains team.
Junior Leah Thompson played well on defense for the Trotters with two digs. Thompson also added two aces on serves for the team.
Junior Kimberly Earhart added three assists to the team’s effort in the semi-final round of the competition.
The Trotters combined for 12 kills, four digs, seven assists and four aces in the match against Thompson Falls.
Next week’s divisional tournament in Ronan will begin on Thursday, Nov. 6.
