The founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christ. Jesus did choose the 14-year-old boy, Joseph Smith, to be HIS earthly prophet in these Latter Days.

Clarification: The Associated Press, the Coeur d’Alene Press and other media continue to print and vocalize misnomer about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The need to clarify this misnomer is evident and follows, to wit:

There is not any such entity as the Mormon Church.

There is not any such people as Mormon people.

There is not any such religion as the Mormon religion.

(The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does honor the prophet, Mormon, by declaring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir).

Mormon was a prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ, on this side of the Earth, more than 1,600 years ago. Mormon kept sacred records; which a small part was transcribed into The Book of Mormon by the prophet Joseph Smith.

After much tutoring by the Angel, Moroni, Joseph Smith was allowed to obtain these sacred records and translate a portion of the same into the Book of Mormon, by the power of the Lord.

The Holy Bible is the first scriptural witness that Jesus is the Christ.

The Book of Mormon is the second scriptural witness that Jesus is the Christ.

The word Church means People or Body. The word Saints means Members.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, did authorize, restore, approve and personally name his church:

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As a Latter-day member of the people of Jesus Christ, I do hereby testify, according to the truth, light and knowledge given to me by the Holy Ghost, that the aforementioned clarification is accurate.
