Parents turn in young pot smokers

Two juveniles on Seventh Avenue West were cited by Columbia Falls Police for possession of marijuana after being caught by their parents. It was later reported that one of the teenagers became combative, pushing and yelling at his mother.

Officers also responded to a physical disturbance on Talbot Road. A man was seen hitting a woman while walking down the street. The woman reportedly kicked him trying to get away before the pair sat in the grass and got into a van that drove away.

Someone on 12th Avenue West reported the motor to a boat was stolen during the night.


Kalispell Police Department received a report of raucous kids throwing eggs at passing vehicles on Fifth Avenue West and 10th Street West.

A concerned day-care employee reported a suspicious man standing on First Avenue West holding a can of Coors and talking to himself. The employee said he was worried because a man had come in the previous night and vandalized a day-care room. 

A man on Iris Court called police and requested extra patrol after he drove home to his wife who said that someone had shaken the door handle and tried to unlock it with a key.

Someone on Fifth Avenue East said a woman who gave a dog to them after they answered an ad on craigslist wanted the dog back. Police worked with the two parties to resolve the problem.


A loose brown and white collie allegedly attempted to bite a person on East First Street and tried to bite a child according to Whitefish Police Department. 

An incredulous taxi driver on Colorado Avenue said he dropped a woman off at an intersection and she refused to pay a $10 cab fare.


Whitefish Fire Department responded to a fuel spill on East Edgewood Drive.


 

Somers-Lakeside Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Spring Creek Road.
