COEUR d'ALENE - Coeur d'Alene Airport Manager Greg Delavan was fired again on Friday just to eliminate any doubt over the process used to fire him two weeks ago.

County Commissioner Dan Green said commissioners held an executive session on Friday to discuss a personnel issue related to Delavan, and returned to an open meeting where commissioners voted two to one to terminate him. Based on earlier statements, Green and Todd Tondee voted for Delavan's dismissal, while Jai Nelson voted against it.

"This mitigates our liability and gives some closure for Greg," Green said late Friday afternoon. "We still are not convinced that what we did was wrong, but we wanted to eliminate any doubts."

Green said the commissioners have asked the prosecutor's office to review their termination process and recommend any changes necessary to ensure they are following Idaho's open meeting laws.
