After 25 years of laying flooring, Mike Broughton has opened his own flooring store, Bigfork Flooring.

“I’ve always wanted to have my own,” he said. “And I figured Bigfork didn’t have one so it worked out.”

Broughton and his family moved to Bigfork three years ago from Kalispell, where they had lived for eight years. Previously Broughton worked in flooring in California.

He sells and installs mostly carpet, vinyl and prefabricated flooring. He stocks numerous lines of including big brands such as Mohawk, DreamWeaver, TAS and Mannington.

“There’s something for everyone,” he said. “There’s a lot of different things people can choose from.”

Customers are able to meet with the person who will be installing their new flooring, and Bigfork Flooring will move furniture, remove the old floor, put down the new, and put all the furniture back where it was.

“We pretty much take care of it, and put it back new,” Broughton said.

Bigfork Flooring is located by the UPS Store on Grand Avenue, and can be contacted at 837-3500.
