Charlo woman shot to death

CHARLO – A 29-year-old Charlo woman is dead and her husband is in custody after a shooting early Tuesday on First Street West in Charlo.

Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene after a man called dispatch and said his wife killed herself.

When deputies arrived to investigate the scene, they determined the shooting was “suspicious” and took the unnamed man into custody for questioning, said Undersheriff Dan Yonkin.

No charges were filed against the man who was detained in Lake County Jail at presstime.

Yonkin said his investigating team is waiting on an autopsy report before considering charges.
