Pamela Pope, 67, passed away at home with family on Nov. 15, 2014, after a six-month courageous battle with cancer.

Pamela was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Bend, Ore. to Gordon and Arlene Prater. She grew up in Gilchrist, Ore., where she had wonderful memories of all the childhood fun. She was the third-oldest of six children.

Pamela's family moved to the Coeur d'Alene area when she was a young teenager. They later moved to the prairie where she attended Rathdrum Senior High. This is where she met her beloved husband, Frank Pope, Jr. They married Sept. 25, 1964. Pamela and Frank raised their four children in the home they built in the Garwood area, where they lived for the next 48 years. Soon after her husband's passing in 2012, she moved to Post Falls.

Pamela was so creative and talented - always sewing, cooking, and painting something for her family. Countless friends and family were always stopping by for a cup of her "good" coffee and fresh-baked cookies. She loved reading, camping, fishing, bowling, and bingo. She bowled for many years and always looked forward to the yearly tournaments so she could spend time with the girls. She also loved her bingo friends.

Pamela's family was her top priority. She always took care of their needs before her own. She loved all of her grandkids and great-grandkids so very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister, Cheryl Kothbauer.

Pamela is survived by her children: Kym (Jeff) Stan, Karla Pope (Frank Cunningham), Stan (Pam) Pope, and Konnie (Brian) Howell; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Jay (Terry) and Rich (Nita) Prater; her sisters Darlene (Jerry) King and Sue (John) Bunger; best friend Eileen (Dale) Fleming; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pamela was the rock of our family and will be greatly missed by all. Please join us in a celebration of her life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Ivalee Dance Hall, 114 S. Seeley St., Post Falls, Idaho.

Condolences can be sent to P.O. Box 1656, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 83816.
