Elementary school boys in Polson and Ronan had hoops-filled Saturdays. Six teams competed in the Ronan Jamboree while Polson’s youth basketball league players hit the hardwoods. 

The results of Saturday’s Ronan Jamboree are: Results 1st place -- Ronan Chiefs, 2nd place -- Lolo Lumber Jacks, 3rd place -- Missoula Street Ball Legends, 4th place -- Charlo Vikings, 5th place -- Ronan Chiefs 2, 6th place -- Ronan Chiefs 3. Championship Game:  Ronan 43 to Lolo 31. Consolation Game Street Ball Legends 36, Charlo Vikings 11. Above: Isaiah Nasewytewa stretches for a rebound. Almost 600 students from Cherry Valley and Linderman elementary schools recently enjoyed a presentation about hunting birds known as raptors at the Linderman auditorium. Katie Davis, far left, shows off an owl to students and educators rapt in awe. Davis, from Stevensville area, founded Raptors of the Rockies in 1988 and tours schools teaching students about the magnificent birds of prey. The Parent and Teacher Organization paid for the presentation.
