If you don't have lunch plans today, please join us.

And if you do have lunch plans already? Switch your reservations to the Kootenai County Fairgrounds Jacklin Building.

Today from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., St. Vincent de Paul is hosting its fifth annual Souport the End of Homelessness, an important fundraiser that helps shelter the homeless through cold winter nights. For $10 admission, you can sample up to 30 succulent soups, generously supplied by local businesses and other do-gooders.

Considering the importance of the mission, Souport is always a festive event. Folks you know will eagerly be waiting on you, cleaning your table and even taking out the trash.

Post Falls Mayor Ron Jacobson and Coeur d'Alene Mayor Steve Widmyer head the list of public servants who will be your personal servants at lunchtime. Scheduled volunteer waiters/cleaner-uppers also include Heidi Rogers, Tom Murn, Ron Ouren, Wayne Longo, Mark Fisher, Russ Porter and several others.

Sholeh and I are eager to serve you as well, so please join the fun. The warmth you spread today could very well save lives.
