Virginia 'Ginny' Wright, 88

Virginia "Ginny" Wright was born February 17, 1926 in McKean, PA, to Doris (Taber) and Charles Burton Meeker. She graduated high school in 1943 and lived in Fairview, PA until 1988, when she moved to Othello, WA and, later, Coeur d'Alene. The beloved mother and grandmother passed away early in the morning of Saturday, November 15, 2014 after battling ovarian cancer for more than three years.
Ginny's many activities included being an active member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, singing in her church choir and with the Coeur d'Aleers, tutoring at Borah Elementary School, and participating in the Welcomers Club. She enjoyed reading and word games, celebrating special occasions, baking, birding, and bargain-hunting.
Ginny was preceded in death by her brothers Donald, Richard, William, and Robert Meeker, and her former husband, John. She is survived by an older brother Norman (Mike) Meeker, and younger sister PJ (Meeker) White, both of Erie, PA, and many nieces and nephews.
Ginny lives on in her 3 children: Bruce Wright, Conneaut, OH; Nancy (Tom) Burke, Coeur d'Alene; and Janice Wright (Scott Holt), Forest Hills, NY; in her 7 grandchildren: Colin, Lauren, Ali and Paul Wright; Brian and Kelly Burke; and Josh Holt; and 1 great-grandchild, Michael Wright.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, November 21, at Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made either to the Music Fund at Community UMC or to the Hospice of North Idaho Hospice House.
An Inurnment will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
