I had heard the fishing was good at Rufus Woods so Eric Granstrom and I made a run up there on Wednesday to see for ourselves.

We stopped at the new access above the dam and no one was there. We stopped at the Power Line and a lady told us that those who fished early had limits by 7 a.m.

We went by the boat launch and saw one boat just leaving the dock. We got up to Brandts Landing a little after 10 a.m., put some rods out and shot some video on how to rig for steelhead for the How To TV Show. Eric got a fish while we were shooting.

We then moved up to the top end of the park and tried again. Eric got another fish so he was done. He was nice enough to wait until I got a fish, which I did.

His fish were about a pound or so, and mine turned out to be 21 inches and weighted 2 ? pounds. There are a lot of smaller fish being taken right now, but there are some dandies out there if you are lucky, like me. We were using Power Bait to float our shrimp off the bottom.

Dave Graybill: The Fishin' Magician

I had a great experience the other day. I had stopped by Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and ran into someone that I knew from Lake Chelan.
