Larry L. Laws, 81, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family on Nov. 23, 2014.
Larry was born March 17, 1933, in Greenough, Mont., to Frank and Mabel Laws. He met the love of his life, Ann Byfield, in Whitepine, Mont. They wed Sept. 1, 1956, in Coeur d'Alene.
Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked in the construction and timber industry.
In retirement Larry decided to further his education, attending North Idaho College. He earned an AA in business. He later wrote and published two books. When he wasn't busy coaching his sons' baseball teams, Larry enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie; his mother, father, five brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Laws; sons Larry (Becky) Laws, Tim (Teresa) Laws, and daughter Lori (Steve) Gerstenberger; sisters Ethel Richards, Dorothy Mummey and Doris Polinsky; six grandchildren: Jared, Tanya, Dillon, Austin, Whitney, and Cody; four great-grandchildren: Tyler, Addison, Ben and Kate; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was a loving and dedicated husband and father. His family was the center of his universe. The unconditional love and support he showed for his family will live in our hearts forever. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at 1 p.m. MST, Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Whitepine Cemetery in Thompson Falls, Mont.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice.
