Stuck duck waddles off OK

A mallard duck flew into a fence on Columbia Avenue, according to a call to the Whitefish Police Department. The caller said the duck was still alive but part of the fence was stuck in the duck’s body. Police contacted a bird rescue company to check out the situation, but the duck eventually made it to the sidewalk and appeared to be doing fine.
A driver hit a deer on Wisconsin Avenue, which caused significant damage to the car and blocked the northbound lane for a short time.
A caller reported hearing three gunshots near Montclair Drive, according to the Kalispell Police Department. The caller reported being awakened by the noise. Police responded and said the shots appeared to be bird hunters nearby.
A woman reported that her car was broken into while she worked at a restaurant on U.S. 93 South. She was not sure what had been taken from her car.
A caller on White Birch Lane said the neighbor’s car alarm was going off and people were yelling. Police responded and found all was quiet.
A Columbia Falls woman received a call from a man saying she was in trouble because she stole gas from him. The woman was confused and scared because she didn’t know who he was. Columbia Falls Police left a message on the man’s voicemail, and asked the woman to call police if she heard from him again.
A man was cussing at vehicles on Nucleus Avenue. The caller said the man had a limp and was coughing, and wanted someone to check on him to see if he needed medical attention. Police located the man and helped him get home.
A Bigfork woman told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that there were trespassers on her property on Ganz Road. She said she hadn’t seen anyone, but there was a four-wheeler parked on her land and she worried there were hunters in her woods, where she kept a cow. Later she called back to say the person had come out of the woods, and she knew them.
A woman near Elk Park Road said her husband was “yelling at everyone and getting in their faces.” No weapons were reported and the husband left during the altercation. The wife believed he had gone to sleep in his camp trailer.
