Northwest celebrates 25 years with move

"Totally Music" could be the theme song for Northwest Music Center now open in its new location at 3700 N. Government Way. Moving from several blocks north, the new location celebrates the 25th anniversary of the store.
With natural wood tones and special lighting accenting it as a professional music studio, the center offers new and used musical instruments and repair, lessons for all instruments and voice and classes for young children.
Instruments include Yamaha Clavinova digital pianos, Tama drums, Ibanez, Washburn and Yamaha guitars, Luna ukuleles, Marshall, Ibanez and Yamaha sound products, Yamaha portable keyboards, Pearl drums and all major brands of band and orchestra instruments. The center also offers printed music and a layaway program.
Owner and music school director Tina Stevens was accepted into the business school at Babson College in Boston. Other key people are store manager Sean Schlender, repair technician Matt Jensen, string instructor Scott Grunsted, guitar instructor Jim Turner, piano instructor Linda Allen, private teachers for voice, classical guitar, woodwinds, drums and brass instruments and three instructors for children's music programs.
Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Phone 667-6200.

NW Photographic Arts there too
Northwest Photographic Arts has its studio in the same 3700 Government Way location. Chad Stevens offers individual, business and family portrait services and a large blue screen for rental.

Shooters Supply, Pawn opens nearby
Fire arms, gun accessories, unique log furniture, safes and vehicles are offered at Shooters Supply & Pawn.
The store opens Monday with features of buying, selling and trade at 3645 N. Government Way.

Downdraft Brewing in Post Falls
A 10-barrell brewhouse with several options is offered at Downdraft Brewing in Treaty Rock Business Plaza on the east side of Post Falls.
Brews include Project Pale, Anonymous Amber, Seltice Smash India Pale Ale, Black Beryl Stout and Half-Cracked Stout. Future brews may include a light Belgian grisette, a porter, an India red ale and a malt-balanced IPA. Plans include area draft distribution and 22-ounce bottles.
