With a pair of starters on the bench, Flathead put together a gritty performance to outlast Big Sky in four sets 25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20 in a Western AA conference volleyball match.

Playing with a new rotation because of injuries, Flathead (7-5 overall, 4-2 Western AA) played every set close to the Eagles.

“It was a little bumpy at times,” Flathead coach Leon Wilcox said. “They did a good job, they played hard.”

The Bravettes put up a season-high 19 aces in the match, solving some of their woes from the serving line this season.

“They served better than they have been,” Wilcox said. “We missed fewer than we have.

Marissa Postovit had 19 kills and six aces to lead the Bravettes, who head to the Crossover tournament in Spokane this weekend. Jessica Simmons had 12 kills and 28 assists for Flathead.
