Girls first, boys second at cross-country invite

With four runners placing in the top-10, Whitefish’s girls cross-country team cruised to an impressive team win at the Frenchtown Invitational last weekend.

Senior Sarah Latcham clocked a 19:23 to place second overall. Barrett Gray placed fourth at 20:50, Katie Smith eighth at 22:09, and Peyton Twete ninth at 22:12.

Whitefish posted a 35 team score. Missoula Loyola was second, 79.

The boys team snagged second place, just two points back of Frenchtown.

Keaton Grove clocked a 17:29 to take second place individually.

Teammates Ethan Potthoff, 17:57, and Ethan Lannaghan, 18:00, were sixth and seventh, respectively.

Whitefish will compete in the Thompson Falls Invitational on Thursday.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue

Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg will attend a public rally in Whitefish on Nov. 10 in support of the World War II statue of Jesus on Big Mountain. Rehberg will be at the VFW Post 276 on Baker Avenue at 1 p.m.
