PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Lake City sweeps Post Falls for first 5A IEL win

POST FALLS - Natalie Taylor had seven kills, nine digs and three aces and the Lake City Timberwolves survived a wild second game to beat the Post Falls Trojans 25-16, 32-30, 25-21 in 5A Inland Empire League volleyball Tuesday night at The Arena.
Shelby Johnson added six kills and four aces, and Clarissa Smith had six klls and three aces for Lake City (9-5, 1-3 5A IEL). Brittany Gay had 27 assists, CC Cates nine digs, Nina Carlson four blocks for the Timberwolves, who play host to Lakeland on Thursday.
Amanda Westlake had nine kills and three aces for Post Falls (7-10, 0-3). Brooke Bowers had eight kills and 11 digs, and Lydea Schneider had 14 assists for the Trojans, who play host to Sandpoint and Skyview of Nampa on Thursday.
Kellogg d. St. Maries
ST. MARIES - Amber Eixenberger had 13 kills and 18 digs for the Wildcats in a 25-21, 25-15, 22-25, 25-17 nonleague win against the Lumberjacks.
Marley Chambers had 22 assists, Brooke Bircher three aces and Andee Wendt seven blocks for Kellogg (6-6), which travels to Priest River on Thursday in Intermountain League play.
"We had some good hustle plays this game," Kellogg coach Amanda Olson said.
Kelsey Auer had 31 assists, Kari Ghramm 14 kills and 11 digs and Catherine Flach three aces for St. Maries (7-9), which faces Coeur d'Alene Charter on Thursday in a Central Idaho League match at Holy Family Catholic School.
"The girls were pretty quiet tonight," St. Maries coach Amy Scheer said. "We were lacking in communication. We rallied in one game, but couldn't pull the whole thing together tonight."
Kootenai d. Clark Fork
CLARK FORK - Madison Napierala had 13 assists and four blocks to lead the Warriors past the Wampus Cats 25-16, 25-21, 25-17 in a North Star League match.
"We made quite a few adjustments to our rotation tonight," Kootenai coach Mary Gentry said. "It was the first game we were able to implement some of those changes. It was a little rough, but we were glad to come away with the win regardless."
Jenna Karpinski had six digs, three kills and two aces and Allison Short eight kills and two blocks for Kootenai (2-7, 2-2 NSL), which travels to Wallace on Thursday.
Hope Kinney had four kills and three aces for Clark Fork (3-9, 1-5) travels to Timberlake on Thursday.

WALLACE — Gretchen Farkas had 18 assists for the Miners in a 25-22, 25-19, 26-24 North Star League win against the Knights.
“We played hard in all three games,” Lakeside co-coach Kellee Johnson said. “It was close in all of them, but it just didn’t go our way tonight.”
Talia Hendrickx had 26 assists, Cailyn Dohrman six blocks and six kills, Te’a Lambert seven aces and four kills and Lillian Rhea nine kills for Lakeside (1-9, 1-3 NSL), which hosts Mullan on Thursday.
Shelby Majszak had five kills and nine digs for Wallace (7-2, 4-0), which hosts Kootenai on Thursday.
Christian Center d. Genesis Prep
POST FALLS — The host Jaguars lost to the Lions 25-14, 25-14, 29-27 in a Mountain Christian League match at Real Life Ministries.
Genesis Prep (2-4, 2-4 MCL) travels to Grace Bible on Thursday.
