The Columbia Falls golf team will send three athletes to the state tournament in Hamilton this week.

On the boys side, Gabe Love hit 91 to take sixth and teammate Henry Chisholm shot 101 to take 12th at the Meadow Lake Resort golf course Sept. 25. For the girls, Shealyn Lefebvre hit 132 to take 15th.

The top 15 golfers advance to state. Columbia Falls hosted the tournament, which went off without a hitch. It was a perfect day for golf — sunny skies, warm temperatures and no wind.

Coral Schulz of Whitefish won the girls tournament and had the overall lowest score among all golfers with 77. Bulldog Cody Olson shot 77 to take the boys title.

Whitefish won both team titles.

At the Columbia Falls Invitational at West Glacier Golf Course on Sept. 23, Love shot 69 to take second and Ashley Trueblood hit 95 to take fourth. Tristin Steinwand shot 86 to take 10th. Ali Gould hit 96 to take seventh, and Kerry Lanners shot 108 to take 10th.

The tourney pitted Whitefish junior varsity, Browning and Libby against the Wildcats. Browning won the girls title, Libby won the boys.
