WENATCHEE, Wash. - Adam Talley scored in the seventh minute for the North Idaho Cardinals, which defeated the Wenatchee Valley Knights 1-0 in a Northwest Athletic Conference match on Friday.

North Idaho (10-0-1, 8-0-1 NWAC) leads the Eastern Division with 25 points, trailed by Wenatchee Valley (7-2-2, 6-2-1) with 19 points.

"Both teams struggled to create shots on goal from high percentage areas," NIC coach Ken Thompson said. "Both relied on crosses and knockdowns, and couldn't put any shots on frame. That's definitely the best team we've played so far and the toughest. They played a trapping style, that made for a fun game. I think they'll do well in the postseason."

Mitch Markovetz had three saves for NIC, which hosts Trinity Lutheran in a nonconference match today.

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Elly Priddy and Jasmine Smith had two goals apiece for the Cardinals in a win over the Knights in an Eastern Division Northwest Athletic Conference game.

"We broke out of our scoring slump today," NIC coach Dan Hogan said. "Hopefully we can continue in this fashion throughout our game (today) against Trinity Lutheran University.

NIC (5-1-6, 4-1-6 SWAC, 18 points) hosts Trinity Lutheran today at Eisenwinter Field.

Wenatchee Valley is 1-9-2, 1-7-2, five points.

EPHRAIM, Utah - Matilda Altin had 13 kills and five digs for the Cardinals in a 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 loss the 10th-ranked Badgers in a Scenic West Athletic Conference match.

Brittany Aldridge had 10 kills and 15 digs, Maddi Seidl 34 assists and Brenna Meehan 12 digs for NIC (8-5, 2-1 SWAC), which visits seventh-ranked Salt Lake today.

Brooke Lamb and Detayne Daniel had nine kills each for Snow (14-3, 1-1), which hosts Southern Idaho today.
