SANDPOINT — The review of an officer-involved shooting that claimed the life of a Priest River woman is being handed off to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office.

Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh said on Friday that he plans to begin his review next week of investigative materials and video footage from the deadly clash outside Bonner General Health on July 2.

Jeanetta Marie Riley, 35, was shot and killed by Sandpoint Police officers after she allegedly refused commands and advanced on them with a knife.

Bonner County Prosecutor Louis Marshall said the lateral pass to his counterpart in Kootenai County is being done in accord with a critical incident memorandum of understanding in North Idaho.
