Many of us attended the opening of Gretchen Hellar’s solo exhibition at the Pend Oreille Arts Council gallery adjacent to the Panida Theater. It was a gala event, displaying Gretchen’s paintings spanning many years, allowing viewers to trace the creative process of an artist who continued to explore changing approaches to the media and the content of her imagery.
