COEUR d'ALENE - An undisclosed amount of money was stolen during an armed robbery of the Global Credit Union at 320 E. Neider Ave. around 1:30 Saturday afternoon.

The suspect, a male, had not been found as of early Saturday evening, said the FBI, which is investigating the robbery.

"A male subject entered the Global Credit Union, brandished a firearm and requested money from the teller," reported Special Agent Todd Palmer of the FBI's Salt Lake City Division. "The male subject then fled the bank. No one was injured in the incident and the male subject has not been located."

Mandy Allen of Coeur d'Alene is a barista who was working at the Human Bean in the parking lot of the credit union at the time of the incident. She saw law enforcement active on the scene for about an hour and a half.

"I didn't see the suspect, but I watched three cops individually rush into the parking lot," she said. "One got out and just kind of watched everything while the other two blockaded off the exits."

She said she wasn't nervous at all and was told to carry on as usual.

"Cops tend to be over here a lot, so it's not a big new thing to see them in that parking lot," she said.

The suspect is described as a white male with a dark complexion, between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet tall, age 40 to 50, about 190 to 210 pounds, wearing a Southern Casinos T-shirt with a large "SC" on the chest, jeans and a dark hat.

The FBI recommends anyone who sees the suspect to call 911. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The Coeur d'Alene Police Department initially responded to the incident and searched the area with a K9 unit. Idaho State Police and other agencies assisted.
