MOSES LAKE - Shots rang out Wednesday night in the Larson Housing Area on Westover Boulevard after a possible gang shooting involving at least five people.

Police also received two more reports of shots fired on Wednesday night in the area of Terminal Street Northeast and on Thursday morning on the 1200 block Arlington Drive, but both of these reported shootings were unfounded, according to information released by the Grant County Sheriff's Office Thursday.

No one reported injuries in the Westover Boulevard shooting.

Gang activity is suspected in the Westover Boulevard case and deputies are verifying if the incident was gang related, according to Kyle Foreman, a sheriff's office spokesman.

It started about 6 p.m. Wednesday night when Grant County deputies and Moses Lake police officers received reports of shots fired near Westover Boulevard.

A witness reported seeing a silver Pontiac with three Hispanic males inside, according to the sheriff's office.

The right front passenger in the vehicle reportedly aimed a firearm out of the window, pointing it toward a possible victim.

Witnesses reported seeing the car stop at the east end of Travis Drive. The man with the gun got out of the vehicle and fired three shots at two fleeing people.

Upon being fired on, one the fleeing people returned fire, hitting a nearby house. A vehicle on Travis Drive was also hit with a stray bullet.

No one has claimed injury in the shooting, according to the sheriff's office.

After the shooting, responding investigators received information the silver Pontiac in the shooting was parked on Arlington Drive.

The Pontiac was seized as evidence used in a felony crime against a person, and will be processed for evidence by investigators.
