SEELEY – The Superior Bobcats dropped their game on the road last weekend against Seeley despite the efforts of some of their best up and coming players to hold off their opponent’s offense.

Starting quarterback Wyatt Zylawy was still out with a lingering injury so it was up to backup quarterback Vicente Guerrero who did manage to help the Bobcat offense put three touchdowns on the board.

Guerrero was helped on the ground by the powerful rushing of Bridger Lapierre who also added over a dozen tackles on defense. Head Coach Allan Labbe aid the encouraging thing about the team’s struggles this season with injury is the younger players on the team are getting some playing time.

“Our younger players are getting better every game,” Labbe said. “We started three freshmen defenders and they played well.”

Labbe said he also got excellent performances from Josh Benda and Cody Shrock. He said because the team has experienced so many injuries this season and have had to play inexperienced freshmen, he has had to restructure parts of how Superior plays the game.

The next game will be at home Friday, Oct. 10 against Noxon and will feature the traditional homecoming festivities. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
