WENATCHEE - Moses Lake volleyball (3-3, 3-5) went on the road Tuesday looking for a win over a premier Columbia Basin Big Nine opponent.

However, the Chiefs were turned back by Wenatchee in five sets 25-23, 11-25, 25-13, 22-25, 10-15.

Head coach Michael DeHoog described the match as a "roller coaster."

Moses Lake may have missed an opportunity to steal a match against Wenatchee (4-2, 4-4) as the second set was marred by several errors by the Chiefs.

"In the game we lost 25-11 we really helped Wenatchee out," DeHoog said.

Ashley Sampson led Moses Lake with 14 kills, followed by Greta Hammer with 11 kills and Marissa Strickland with 10 kills.

Setter Kylee McKay racked up 45 assists to go along with 2 aces.

McKay also led the Chiefs with 18 digs. Sampson and Strickland added 16 and 13 digs, respectively.

Strickland was the block leader for Moses Lake with 4.

Moses Lake will look to rebound Thursday at home against second place Eisenhower.

"We'll come back, we'll regroup, we'll bounce back," DeHoog said.
