Prep soccer roundup: Libby boys blank Bigfork

LIBBY — Walter Briones gave Libby the early goal just six minutes into play and the Loggers rolled from there for an easy 5-0 triumph over Bigfork in Northern A boys soccer play on Thursday.
Briones finished with a hat trick as he added goals at 33 and 49 minutes.
Cody Wood assisted on the first and last goals and scored on a penalty kick at 25 minutes.
Sage Friss had the other goal for Libby.

BJ Bach scored what proved to be the game winner in the 49th minute as Stillwater hung on for a nonconference victory over visiting Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Bach nailed his shot from 8 yards out on a full sprint to the goal.
Bach assisted on Joe King’s second goal at 29 minutes. King opened the scoring with a goal at 18 minutes.
Bonners Ferry scored goals at 46 and 54 minutes.
Stillwater (6-2) also won the first matchup at Bonners Ferry last month, 3-1.

POLSON — Bailey Griffith, on a penalty kick, gave Columbia Falls an early 1-0 lead, but it was all Polson after that.
Mike Mercer and Andrew Hanson scored back-to-back goals two minutes apart to give Polson a 2-0 edge at halftime and the Pirates followed with five more goals in the second half to claim the Northern A victory.
Mercer and Hanson also scored the first two goals of the second half.
