COEUR d'ALENE - Stroke by stroke, piece by piece, watch as art unfolds before your very eyes.

The thought, the pause, the shifting, the thinking, everything that goes into the creation of a true piece of art - that is what "Art in the Making" is all about.

Watch 13 regional artists as they draw, paint and sculpt from two live models while accompanied by live music from 1-4 p.m. Saturday in the atrium of The Coeur d'Alene Resort Plaza Shops. Everyone is invited to meet the artists and watch them work at this free event.

This is the 30th time in 14 years the Art Spirit Gallery has organized and sponsored this popular community event.

Designed to help promote art through public demonstration, all visual artists and musicians are invited as volunteers, anxious to share their enthusiasm for art.

"I have enjoyed watching this event grow over the years," said Art Spirit owner Steve Gibbs. "It is such a treat to see people light up as they 'see' art coming alive in front of their eyes."

"Art in the Making" is part of Art from the Heart, the 12th annual celebration of the arts brought to you by the Coeur d'Alene Arts & Cultural Alliance.

The Plaza Shops are located at 210 Sherman Ave. For information, contact Gibbs at 765-6066 or steve@theartspiritgallery.com.
