Together for time and all eternity. Ernest J. Park was born March 13, 1938, and wife Nancy was born March 10, 1940. They were both raised in Massachusetts and were married March 21, 1959. Together they finished their journey on Oct. 5, 2014, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Ernie retired in 1984 after 26 years of service in the United States Air Force. He also retired from the Civil Service for the United States Air Force in 2004 after 20 years of service. After settling in North Idaho, Ernie joined the volunteer fire department.
Nancy worked a few odd jobs through the years, but her true commitment was to her family. She was a great mother who was always there for her children. Her favorite pastime was sewing, and she was a very talented seamstress.
Nancy had been ill for several months and Ernie had a three week battle with cancer.
They are survived by Nancy's brother Robert Sammonds, sister Carol Sepanski; daughters June Henson, Jean Park and Donna Lehman (Mike); eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 501 E. Wallace Ave., Coeur d'Alene. The inurnment will be at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at the Washington State Veteran's Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Wash.
English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
