Joyce Marie Quimby, 81

Joyce Marie Quimby, 81, of Columbia Falls, “went  to be with the Lord” on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014.

Joyce was born on July 23, 1933, in Hines, Minn., to Walter and Eleanor Grundmeier.

On July 23, 1951, she married Roy Clifford Quimby.

Joyce and her family lived in Beloit, Wis., from July 1951 until June 1971, when they moved to Olney. Then, in search of warmer weather, they moved to Quartzsite, Ariz., in 1994. Joyce moved back to Montana six years ago when her health failed and she needed to be around more family.

She is survived by her daughter, Lucinda Church and Mark of Quartzsite; son, Lonny Quimby and Janet of Columbia Falls; son, Larry Quimby and Mary of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; son, Roy Quimby and Sheila of Olney; sisters, Laura Thomas of Beloit, and Lois Schwegel of Whitefish; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Quimby; parents, Walter and Eleanor Grundmeier; sisters, Alice Theisen and Carol January; brothers, Marvin and Leroy Grundmeier; and granddaughter, Carlene Quimby.

A memorial service for Joyce will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the First Baptist Church of Whitefish.

Columbia Mortuary is caring for Joyce’s family.
