PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Cd'A clinches top seed to regionals

POST FALLS - Megan Ramseyer had 22 kills, 18 assists, 11 digs and three aces as the Coeur d'Alene Vikings beat the Post Falls Trojans 25-19, 20-25, 25-17, 25-15 in 5A Inland Empire League play on Thursday night at The Arena, in the annual Volleyball for the Cure match for breast cancer awareness.
Sydney Bybee added seven kills, and Ali Williams had 16 assists, five kills and three aces for Coeur d'Alene (15-2, 5-1 5A IEL), which clinched a tie for the league title, and wrapped up the No. 1 seed to the 5A Region 1 tournament in a couple of weeks.
Isabella Hollibaugh had 10 digs and three aces, and Maura Donovan had 11 digs for Coeur d'Alene, which travels to Central Valley on Saturday.
Brooke Bowers had eight kills and nine digs for Post Falls (10-18, 0-4). Amanda Westlake had six kills and eight digs, Allison Munday six kills, Lydea Schneider 10 assists and eight digs, Andra Beck 11 assists, Brittany Deitz three blocks, Jasmine Haskew two aces.
Post Falls plays host to Lewiston on Tuesday.

LEWISTON - The visiting Timberwolves pushed the two-time defending state 5A champions before coming up short in a 25-19, 28-26, 25-22 loss to the Bengals in 5A Inland Empire League play at Booth Hall.
Natalie Taylor had 19 kills and 16 digs for Lake City (14-9, 1-4 5A IEL). Brittany Gay had 32 assists and four kills, CC Cates 21 digs and two aces, Clarissa Smith six kills.
Emilee Schlader had 12 kills and 25 digs for Lewiston (25-2, 4-1). Brett Hastings added 12 kills and six blocks, TaLaynia Hobart and Makayla Wilson 16 assists each, Jaclyn Schumacher 25 digs.
Lake City travels to Sandpoint on Tuesday, then closes out league play next Thursday at home vs. Post Falls.

COEUR d'ALENE - Anna Verhaeghe finished with 11 kills and eight digs as the Panthers defeated the Wildcat junior varsity 25-12, 25-8, 25-11 in nonleague play at Holy Family Catholic School.
Kallie Garn had five kills, Jackie Callihan 16 assists and Stephanie Kociela 10 aces for Charter (7-10).
"They did a really good job for how young they were," Panthers coach Tera Armstrong said. "We played well. We didn't play as hard as we could have, but we placed some hits and tried to do new things."
Coeur d'Alene Charter plays Central Idaho League matches with Orofino and Grangeville on Saturday at Orofino.

Kootenai
HARRISON FLATS — Charli Sadler had 14 kills and two blocks as the Tigers rallied to beat the Warriors 25-27, 18-25, 25-15, 25-9, 15-11 in a North Star League match.
Robbyn Trogden had 12 assists and four kills, Yazmin Galloway four kills for Mullan (7-3, 5-3 NSL).
Grace McInturff had nine kills and five blocks for the Warriors (2-10, 2-5).
“We came out really strong and ready to play,” Kootenai coach Mary Gentry said. “In the third game, we let Mullan take a little bit of the momentum and we never took it back.”
Madison Napierela finished with four kills, 14 assists and five digs, Allison Short seven kills and five blocks and Hope Martin 12 digs for Kootenai.
Both teams play on Tuesday. Kootenai plays at Lakeside in league play, while Mullan plays at the Timberlake JV.
