Allen L. Wormuth, 93, of Post Falls, passed away Sept. 28, 2014, at Hospice of North Idaho.
Allen was born April 10, 1921, in Blue Hill, Neb., the son of Ray and Ina Wormuth. The family farmed there until moving to farm near Eston, Saskatchewan, and eventually to a small farm in Otis Orchards, Wash.
After graduation in 1941, Allen worked for a civilian construction company on Kodiak Island, Alaska. He served his country as a sergeant in the Army during World War II, stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash.
Allen and Lois were married in 1945 and enjoyed 65 years together in the Post Falls area. Allen worked for Atlas Tie Lumber Company for the majority of their married life. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and outdoor activities.
Allen was a quiet man of faith with a deep love for the Lord, his wife, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois; three brothers: Raymond, Vernon, and Adin; and two sisters, Agnes and Grace.
Allen is survived by daughter Louise Scott (Ken) of Topeka, Kan., and daughter Irene Brundige of Rathdrum, Idaho; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, also at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel.
