Lisa Baum, 62
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 11 years, 2 months AGO
On Oct. 6, 2014, surrounded by family, Lisa Eugenia Swanson Baum, 62, breathed her last. She was born Dec. 21, 1951, to Betty Lee and Edward Swanson in Berkeley, Calif.
Lisa and Mike Baum were married in Concord, Calif., on Aug. 4, 1973. They were blessed with two lovely daughters, Pauline and Stephanie. The family moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1980, where Lisa worked as a beautician and Mike taught at Coeur d'Alene High School.
Lisa was a generous person, beautiful inside and out, practical and loving, always there for family and friends, birds and stray cats. Whether styling hair or organizing a wedding, Lisa's keen eye for detail and design shone through. She loved boating in Beauty Bay, maintained a beautiful yard and abundant garden, and created fabulous wreaths and needlepoint.
Her parents preceded her in death. Lisa is survived by her husband, Mike; daughters Pauline (Steve) Currie and Stephanie (Justin) White; brother Jim (Debra) Swanson; grandchildren Kyla Currie, AJ Currie and Alexis Allen.
At her request, no service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Power of the Paw, 6498 W. Kamloops Drive, Rathdrum, Idaho 83858.
According to Kahil Gibran, "Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. Only when you have reached the top of the mountain, then shall you begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance." Lisa and her cats are singing and climbing and dancing. Requiescat in pace.
