Paul and Gladys Sullivan

50th Anniversary

Paul and Gladys (Hale) Sullivan will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Oct. 17, 2014. Their home has been in Hayden for the past 15 years after Paul's retirement from The Boeing Company and Gladys' from bookkeeper and property management.

They have two sons, Patrick and family of Asheville, N.C., and Damian and family of Coeur d'Alene; and three grandchildren, Jazmynn and Marley Rose of Coeur d'Alene, and Aidan of Asheville.

They will celebrate with family and friends, then take a cruise next year.

Ron and Janine Porter

50th Anniversary

Fresh out of the Navy in 1963, Ron Porter, of Spokane, was working on a road construction job in Nezperce where he met Janine Eller. Janine was working at the Nezperce Hotel Cafe. The road crew was staying at the hotel.

Ron and Janine were married Oct. 3, 1964, at the First Christian Church in Nezperce. Since Ron's work was in road construction, they lived in several locations in Idaho, Washington and Montana. When their two children started school, they moved to Coeur d'Alene and built a house. Ron continued to work in road construction, retiring in 1998. Janine worked for attorneys Flammia and Solomon for 17 years, retiring in 2001.

Their son, Mike, passed away in 1989. Their daughter, Michele and son-in-law Ted, live in Post Falls. They have two grandsons, Todd and Jeff, and one granddaughter, Jessie. They also have a granddaughter by marriage, Savannah, and one great-grandson, Wyatt.

Ron and Janine celebrated their 50th anniversary with a recent Alaskan cruise.

Kjerstin Ann Derr was born at 5:38 a.m. Oct. 7, 2014, to Crystal Marmon and John Derr of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 5 pounds, 8 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. She has one sister and two brothers. Maternal grandparents are Shirley Azar and Gill Marmon. Paternal grandparents are Ruth Ann Derr and Clinton John Derr.

Wilton Randle Borchert was born at 8:03 a.m. Oct. 2, 2014, to Stephanie and Dion Borchert of Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Sisters are Victoriah and Britney. Maternal grandparents are Sally and Victor Albert of Athol, and Lou and Lori Cowart of Delano, Minn. Paternal grandparents are Kay and Randy Welsand of St. Cloud, Minn.

Ward Hogan King was born at 6:52 p.m. Sept. 13, 2014, to Brady and Bruce King of Coeur d'Alene at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces and was 22 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Philip and Mary Ward of Miami, Fla. Paternal grandparents are Patricia Ann Gerrity King of Coeur d'Alene and the late Allan King.

Jenna Avery Morrison was born at 3:46 a.m. Aug. 17, 2014, to Stephanie and Jeff Morrison. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 21 inches long.
