Class AA soccer: Siler, Wilson lead Bravettes past Capital

Jaymee Siler scored a goal in both halves and Stephanie Wilson completed the scoring in the 53rd minute as the Flathead girls rolled by Helena Capital 3-0 in Western AA soccer play on Thursday at Kidsports Complex.

Wilson assisted on Siler’s first two goals as the Bravettes (4-6-3 overall, 4-4-3 league) dominated the action. Flathead outshot Capital 21-1 on goal and led in corner kicks 8-1.

Zoe Zander had one keeper save for Flathead.

“We played a great possession game,” Flathead coach Cory Wilson said.

“The execution by all 11 players on the field was excellent.”

It the first meeting of the season between the two teams, Capital pulled out a 2-0 victory.

“Certainly one of our better outings,” Wilson said of this one.

“We’ve been struggling to play a full 80 minutes, but tonight the Bravettes did just that.”

Wilson said Monica White, from the outside, used her speed and strong foot to create a lot of scoring chances for the Bravettes.

Flathead wraps up regular-season play today versus Helena High at Kidsports Complex. The match starts at noon.

Helena High and Flathead tied 1-1 in an earlier meeting.

Two second-half goals allowed Helena Capital to cruise to a Western AA victory over Flathead at Kidsports Complex.

Three different players scored for the Bruins, who led 1-0 at the half.

Capital outshot Flathead 16-9 on goal and in corner kicks 6-3.

Josh Osborne had five keeper saves for Flathead.

“Capital was in control,” Flathead coach Dan Ferguson said.

“We were not able to string out our passes and take advantage of the opportunities we did create.”

Flathead beat Capital 2-1 in an earlier meeting.

Flathead honored its senior players before this match.

“Special thanks to the seniors for their work to the program,” Ferguson said.

Flathead (3-10-0, 2-9-0) hosts Helena High today at Kidsports Complex at 10 a.m. in the regular-season final. Helena beat Flathead in their first matchup 3-1.
